American International Movers · Family owned and operated since 1930
Long Distance, Military and International Movers Since 1930
American International Movers is a family-owned moving company founded in 1930 by Richard Hicks Sr. We handle long distance moves across the 48 states, military relocations, international moves and office moves from five offices in Georgia and Alabama. Our fleet logs about 2.5 million miles a year.
Most of the families who call us are not moving across town. They are moving across the country, to a new duty station, or overseas. That is the work we built this company around, and it is the work three generations of the Hicks family still run today.

Moves That Cross State Lines, Oceans and Duty Stations
A long haul is a different job from a local move. Your things ride on a truck for days, often through several states, and the crew that loads them is not always the crew you talk to on delivery day. In our experience, the moves that go well are the ones where one company owns the whole job from the pre-move survey to the last box set down.
That is how we work. Our trucks carry GPS tracking, and we are generally able to respond to immediate moving needs anywhere in the continental US within 48 hours (Source: American International Movers, aimovers.com, 2026). When a move starts or ends outside our own footprint, our agent network handles origin and destination services in all 48 states and abroad.

Commercial and Office Moving

Packing, specialty crating, senior relocation and storage-in-transit round out the list. See packing services, senior moving and storage during a long distance move.
What to Expect From Your Estimate
A good estimate starts with an honest inventory. Our online estimator walks you through each room, from the basement to the attic, so nothing heavy gets forgotten. For larger homes we schedule a pre-move survey in person or by video. You then receive a written estimate and, on interstate moves, the federal booklet that explains your rights as a shipper (Source: FMCSA, 49 CFR Part 375).
We also explain valuation before you sign. Released value coverage pays very little on light, expensive items, and we would rather you hear that from us on day one than on delivery day. See how valuation coverage works.
Five Offices Across Georgia and Alabama
We run moves from Forsyth, Macon, Columbus, Augusta and Enterprise. Each office has its own team and its own phone line, and four of them sit near major military installations. Our corporate office is in Forsyth on US-41.
